Ingredient Spotlight - Jojoba Oil

Ingredient Spotlight: Jojoba Oil

When it comes to Organically Bare, every product is made from a combination of amazing, natural, certified organic ingredients. Each individual ingredient in its own right has a wealth of benefits for the body, mind and soul. Today I thought I would shine a spotlight on just one of my powerhouse ingredients – Jojoba Oil. Pronounced ‘ho-ho-ba’, this oil is the liquid wax produced from the Jojoba bean – a plant native to southern Arizona, southern California, and northwestern Mexico. Wonderfully versatile, nourishing and natural, it has been used throughout history to treat sores, wounds and skin ailments and continues to be a powerful ingredient in many natural skin care products.

Benefits of Jojoba Oil

Intensely Hydrating

Jojoba is actually the most similar oil to that produced by our own skin. This means it can penetrate the skin at a deeper level to provide intense hydration. This is because the wax ester produced by the jojoba bean is similar to the protective wax produced by human skin that helps keep it smooth, supple and moisturised.

Rich in Nutrients

Jojoba oils contains many fatty acids, powerful antioxidants and vitamins such as essential fatty acids omega 6 and 9, along with Docosenol, which are antiviral and help to repair damaged skin tissue. Jojoba oil is also naturally rich in Vitamins A, D and E, which are skin healing vitamins that regenerate skin cells helping to reduce fine lines.

Incredibly Gentle

Jojoba Oil is naturally gentle and non-irritating which means it can be used for any skin type. The oil helps to balance oily skin, sooth sensitive skin, hydrate dry skin and is great for treating acne and breakouts.

With all that goodness, you are definitely going to want to get some on your skin a-sap.
